Let's play at the Filter Building

We've been crazy busy getting geared up for the wedding. Who know there was so much that had to be done? Someone should really write a book about all this stuff.....oh what? They have? There's like a 1,000 of them?!?! Oh.....nope, didn't read them. Ok, well I skimmed one.

So we're just doing our own thing and figuring it out for ourselves. It's been a blast and alot of fun working together and with our friends and families to pull this all together.

This weekend, we met with our super talented photographer and shot on over to the Filter Building to snap a few renegade pics of the location with my phone. This one above is my absolute favorite! Dylan was just standing on a ledge looking over the empty parking lot. He's so good at what he does.

On the other side of the building is this beautiful lake view. If we're lucky, this will be the where the ceremony will take place. So everyone put on your festive clothing and start doing your happy pretty weather dances. Please submit videos to my email writepamelamichelle (AT!) gmail (DOT) com. K, thanks. We will play these at the reception.

Love love love the 1920's brick on the exterior. The pot with the wrapped hose is a lovely touch.

And our favorite part of our photo trip was seeing this large wood blah blah! It's just awesome. Come see it in person at the wedding, and you too can take a pic of it to post on your blog.

Cheers to you, and see you soon.

The perfect picture....

Today I tried to get a snap shot of Dylan and me. He was being goofy.

me: Hey honey, let's take a pic
Dylan: ok
me: heeeeeeeey! Not funny faces! Do it normal!
Dylan: hehehehe, ok

me: DYLAN!!!!
Dylan: ok ok, I'll be normal this time.
me: promise?
Dylan: yeeeessss........

me: Ugh! this will do. You are terrible!
Dylan: hehehehehehe
me: love you
Dylan: love you

Location location location

Atop the southwest shore of White Rock Lake, the historic Filter Building has beautiful terraces and sweeping views take your breath away. The vintage industrial interior serves as the perfect backdrop to carry out any theme.

In the urban industrial style of the 1920’s, The Filter Building features exposed red brick walls, original iron trusses, and many windows overlooking White Rock Lake.

This is definitely the prettiest place in Dallas. Can't wait!!!!!

Truth:

This venn-diagram pretty much illustrates most of our food hunting/gathering conversations around 6pm each day. Just switch sushi and desert, and it would be a perfect description of Dylan and I.

Found on Flickr

I'm rambling....enjoy!

I'm in the wedding mood + this is and awesome illustration + we need to find a good photographer.

Dylan and I have been working on our Save the Dates. We can't wait to get them done, but the problem with having two artists design and illustrate one card is that it will never be finished. There's always one little thing more we can do to improve it and make it better. So um....I guess our guests will get them sometime before the big day....maybe.

We've been looking at alot of art for inspiration us for our save the dates. I love the illustration above. It's from Yasmine Surovec and can be found here. My brain has been reprogrammed to focus on wedding stuffs. So everything I see is WEDDING related. This image made me start thinking about what kind of dress I should get. I've discovered I have no idea. I was never one of those girls who dreamed of her wedding day as a child. You know those little girls that pull out magazine pages and save flowers and ribbons to make the most perfect bedazzled pre-wedding scrapbook. Yah, not me.

Unrelated: Three things I learned about wedding photography today:
1) A photographer with a good artistic eye and skill is expensive. really. expensive.
2) People pay wedding photographers to fly out to destination weddings and cover all their expenses. food. hotel. travel. what? wow!
3) I think in my next life I will become a super bad-assed awesome photographer
